Required for body morphing, crash fixes and more |
Description
This is an addon for the mod Natural Bodies of Oblivion (NBO). This mod adds nude male characters to the game, compatible with NBO's Body Morpher system. The body itself is heavily based on the vanilla mesh shape and as such should be compatible with most vanilla armors and (if you use the underwear version) retextures. This body does not make use of the extended skeleton's additional shaping bones, only bones that rig the genitalia. This means sliders that effect the belly, for example, are not available in this mod.
Requirements
UE4SS - Required for the Body Morpher
Installation
Make sure you're using the latest version of Natural Bodies - Full!
Follow the installation steps of NBO closely
Extract the main zip file to your Oblivion Remastered root Directory (where the game's .exe is located).
Overwrite any files that appear or if you're using a mod manager like Mod Organizer, load this mod after Natural Bodies.
NOTE: This needs to be installed after NBO. Do not install NBO over this, you won't get sliders.
If you're using Game Pass, make sure to rename Win64 to WinGDK in the Binaries folder.
Uninstallation
Delete the files named "NaturalBodies_Male" in: "OblivionRemastered/Binaries/Win64/ue4ss/Mods/NaturalBodyMorph"
To uninstall the underwear version of the mod, simply go to the "~mods/NaturalBodies" directory and delete all files named "NaturalBodies_BMaleUnderwear".
Compatibility
This mod follows the same general compatibility as NBO. Body retextures are not compatible unless using just the Underwear version of the mod.
Known Issues
Unaligned nipples: Certain races have nipples that aren't aligned with the mesh. The most obvious one is the Orc.
Underwear clipping: The underwear can clip with parts of the body, this is known.
Argonian Hip Seam: This is due to how the vanilla body was painted. Don't expect a fix for this as it requires repainting the scales.
Weird Ragdolls: This only affects beast races. This is the result of a fix for a different bug.
FAQ
Q: Why isn’t this just included in NBO’s main install?
Originally, I planned to bundle this with NBO. However, after asking around, it became clear that separating them would reduce confusion - especially since some users of NBO aren’t interested in male nudity. Keeping it modular makes things cleaner.
Q: I have a neck seam as a vampire or when I’m sick. What gives?
That’s actually a vanilla Oblivion Remastered bug. If you disable the mod, you’ll likely still see a seam. Vampire races are broken, and this isn’t something introduced by the mod. There are plenty of threads out there detailing these issues, so please don’t submit bug reports related to this.
Q: Why are there fewer features compared to NBO’s female bodies?
This male body was made more out of necessity than passion. After patching a crash that happened to overwrite male bodies, I figured I might as well provide a proper replacement. That said, I intentionally kept it simple - mainly because I expect someone more interested in male bodies will eventually expand or improve on this. I'm just laying the groundwork.
Q: Will the underwear clipping ever get fixed?
Probably not. There are 13 bodies to maintain. Editing and reimporting takes a while and some issues only show up in-game. This mod isn't going to receive much support beyond this release unless something really bad crops up. If bug reports get flooded with minor issues, I’ll likely just disable them for regular users.
Q: Where’s the body hair? Isn’t this supposed to be a “natural” body mod?
Painting convincing body hair would be a lot of work. I don’t want to seem dismissive, but this is a modding project, not a full-time studio. There are over 20 textures to manage, and I’d rather move on to other things. That said, if someone wants to create a proper body hair mod, it should be fairly doable via texture editing. I can offer advice if needed, but I won’t be making it myself.
Q: Can we get a circumcised version?
Similar to my above answers: I will not be doing this myself. Like I've said, maintaining 13 different bodies becomes a lot harder when you introduce variables like this. I have achieved what I wanted to with this mod, but if someone wants to make a version with this option, they're more than welcome to.
Q: Will there be a light version of this like with NBO?
If enough people want a light version so they can just have a nude male body, I'll make it though when the modder's resources are ready it might be simpler for someone to come along and reparent the skeleton to the non-custom one.
Additional Note:
I’m putting together a fairly large modder’s resource pack for all of NBO, which will make it easier for others to add features or make edits. Once it’s ready, you’ll find it on the main NBO page.
